The Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education has announced that it will move to a new simplified EQA system following a public consultation late last year.

The changes will see EQA delivered by Ofqual or, for integrated degree apprenticeships, the Office for Students (OfS).

The Institute is now setting up a new group of professional and employer-led organisations – called the Employer Directory – for Ofqual and OfS to draw on industry expertise. The Institute is seeking applications to an employer directory that supports the Institute, Ofqual and the Office for Students (OfS) in their external quality assurance (EQA) of apprenticeship assessments. Professional and employer-led bodies that have a role in maintaining standards of occupational competence and an interest in skills development should apply by clicking here.

The Institute would like as many sector representative bodies as possible to apply and support with real industry insight. This will keep employers at the heart of protecting quality in apprenticeships.
