Engineering contractors operate in an increasingly crowded and complex landscape. Globalisation, consolidation and merger are reshaping a sector, which is responding to new challenges in the areas of employment legislation, workforce development and potential restrictions on the free movement of goods, services and skills. BCECA recognises that todays engineers operate in a multidisciplinary and multinational environment where collaboration with, and leadership of, global teams is essential. We use regular stakeholder mapping to identify the issues and organisations where our collective voice can influence decision making and policy development. Close working relations are maintained with the ECITB, Professional Engineering Institutions and UK government departments, including the Migration Advisory Committee.
