Whet benefits does TAF offer?

TAF is the UK’s ‘association of associations’, a community of 180 trade associations encouraging the development and sharing of best practice among UK trade associations and promoting the role of effective trade associations to government, industry and the wider public. 

We focus specifically on trade associations, not on the broader membership community, and that focus helps define everything we do. Our 180 association members in turn represent close to 190,000 UK businesses, making TAF one of the largest representative bodies in the country.

Whether helping associations share best practice, or helping our members help their members transition to net zero, TAF is at the heart of the UK association community and working every day to help support our sector. Thank you for being part of our community!

What TAF does

TAF is run by associations, for associations, with a focus on helping our members deliver more for their members. We support our members by providing:

Community

We help members connect with each other to network, learn and share, via regular in-person events, an online community and special interest groups.

Insights

We provide access to resources, industry benchmarking, events and guidance to help our members improve, address common challenges and respond to the changing external environment.

Services

We provide access to services and deals via a range of partners to help our members save money and deliver more for their members.

Bringing people together is central to what TAF is all about, check out our latest events here.

Most TAF events are free for members, but where TAF incurs significant costs then we do have to charge to attend some events.

However, when we do have to charge, TAF Members get the best possible prices - normally at cost or as close to that as we can manage.

The main events we have to charge for are our two big set piece events of the year - the annual Trade Association Awards and our annual Best Practice Exchange conference - and our training programmes where we use external trainers, everything else is free for members.

The most valuable part of TAF is our community, bringing together professionals from trade associations across the country who can support and help each other.

We facilitate this via our events, our online community, our expert network and via the TAF team - if you have a question or are grappling with a challenge in your association then get in touch and we can put you in touch with someone who can help!

We run Special Interest Groups (SIGs) covering a range of key functions in trade associations, offering a chance for people with shared interests to network, share best practice and collaborate. Find out more on our Special Interest Groups page.

Our trade association directory is the go-to place to find out about associations in the UK and used by Government, the media and the public to find out more about the association sector.

A Guide for Employers designed to support members and associations in navigating the education and skills landscape

We run regular training courses for associations and partner with other training providers as well to offer members with access to first class training to help them develop their skills and careers.

Lots of our content is paywalled for members only, from our resource library to videos and how-to guides, we have tonnes of material to help you run your association.
