We are delighted to welcome back the Trade Association Best Practice Awards in 2022 after a two year absence enforced by the Covid-19 pandemic. The awards are the UK’s leading awards for trade associations by trade associations, recognising, rewarding and promoting best practice and innovation across the sector.

Receiving a Best Practice Award will mean your organisation has the kudos of being an award-winning organisation. On top of that, it is an excellent opportunity to showcase your organisation and its expertise among your contemporaries and encourage others to follow your lead on running a successful organisation which focuses on members’ needs.

By entering, you can benchmark your organisation against other UK trade associations, sharpen the focus of your organisation and its activities, learn from trade association best practice and motivate and reward your colleagues.

2 March @ 12:00 13:00 GMT

Join us for our online seminar on diversity, hosted by Women on Boards. WOB will be sharing the latest research on how diversity enhances group intelligence and innovation and show that it is essential to deliver top performance.  Diverse groups may not feel comfortable but the evidence is incontrovertible: teams of like-minded individuals are unlikely to deliver competitive advantage or exceptional results. This seminar is free for TAF members. If you would like to register to attend please email secretariat@taforum.org

Each year a number of senior business people, with significant experience in running organisations and conducting meetings, are asked to take on the chairmanship of a trade association. However, they may well find the experience rather different from that which they have been used to. The result is that an incoming chairman struggles to get to grips with the role and may have to spend much time establishing a modus operandi – with the governing body and the chief executive. By the time this is done the chairman may be halfway through the term of office.

The objective of the seminar is to help chairmen and chairmen-elect of trade associations maximise their effectiveness by:

  • Helping them understand the politics and dynamics of trade associations
  • Identifying best practice that will help them perform effectively
  • Providing a forum in which they can share experience with other chairmen
  • Giving them access to further sources of information
  • Preparing a due diligence checklist
  • Issues to be settled before the chairman’s term of office commences

Venue: Delivered Online via Zoom. The course will be run by Andrew Large, Director General, the Confederation of Paper Industries.

Price: £295 + VAT

To register your interest in the first instance please email: secretariat@taforum.org

Please note this is a member-only event. Places are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
