The Bingo Association - Legal/Technical Assistant
The Bingo Association represents the licensed bingo industry within Great Britain and is looking for an intelligent and articulate legal/technical assistant to join a very small team, working closely with the Association Secretary.
Duties will include

• Working on issues-led campaigns to foster a positive legal, fiscal and regulatory environment for our members.

• Working with HM Government departments and the Gambling Commission; helping to prepare responses to consultations and assist in lobbying activities on behalf of our members.

• Working with members and colleagues to develop The Association’s strategy, profile and codes of conduct.

• ensuring that members receive regular, high quality information and advice on best practice, changing legislation and regulation, training and other issues.

• Filing and general administration duties; management of filing system and statistics

We seek an individual who is flexible, self motivated and confident, who has good organisational skills and strong analytical abilities. A keen attention to detail and the ability to cope well under pressure is essential.

You will need to be an effective communicator and enjoy developing strong working relationships with people within and outside The Association. The ability to plan, organise and prioritise your work to ensure timely delivery is important, as is a good sense of humour. Experience of maintaining and updating records, drafting minutes and other documentation is important.

You will need good IT skills and be in possession of a full UK driving licence. Some work outside normal office hours and weekends may be required; there may be some UK travel.

You will be a graduate or a Chartered Secretary/ICSA Grad with an understanding of legal compliance issues and ideally some experience of or interest in lobbying, politics and/or media relations.

The salary will be dependent on skill and experience and will be in the range of £22,000 plus benefits. The role is based in Dunstable and the closing date for applications is 25th February 2010.
